InspirationFX: Rhinestone Cowgirl

Get your creative juices flowing

Rhinestone Cowgirl

by: Dwyn Tomlinson

Cowgirls don't get the blues if they have lots of rhinestones to wear, and a good horse, of course.

These great findings rivet into place, and then you glue a rhinestone flatback into the middle of it for a polished and very professional look.

I see no reason why these couldn't adorn the browband of a favourite bridle, either - although I haven't actually tried it!

  1. One end of the leather is to be secured as a loop for the Z shaped hook to hook into. You might notice from close examination of the photos that I made the first hole in the wrong place and had to do it again. It is easier to mark the leather and punch the holes separately rather than trying to punch through two pieces at once.
  2. The end bars just float, but you could glue them into place if you liked.
  3. Rivet the findings into place. You will need the riveting tool for this, as it would be hard to get inside the finding to get it flat without it.
  4. Finally, glue the rhinestones into place.
