A Sneak Peak to Classes in 2015

Wow, where has the time gone? It seems like only a couple of months ago, I was preparing for 2014 and pulling together classes. Special events and the 2014 shows weren't even on the horizon!

The reality is we've hosted over 300 classes and open sessions and have welcomed more than 1,300 students (albeit not 1,300 different students) so far this year. That's plenty of reasons to be grateful to our instructors and students for their trust and on-going support. So, thank you to each and every one of you!

However, we're not sitting back on our laurels - there is more to be done!

Champlevé; Jan. 31/Feb. 1, 2015
Cloisonné; May 2/3/9/10, 2015
We have new instructors who will be offering new projects and techniques! One notable new instructor is Christine Woollacott who will be teaching both Champlevé and Cloisonné classes. Both are techniques we haven't offered before and both will be multiple day classes taking place in using the metal studio and the lampwork studio. Christine's work is absolutely stunning! She promises that, for either class, students only need to know about working with Art Clay Silver; she'll take you step-by-step through the process so you can create your own unique piece!

Coiled Pendant; March 1, 2015
Jen Rosen is another new instructor with a passion for wire work. I was introduced to her and her work at the Toronto Bead Society's 2014 Fall Bead and Jewellery Fair and am thrilled to bring her to BeadFX. Jen will take you through a couple of beginner bangle project and then jump into making coiled pendants.

Basic Wire Wrapping; Jan. 25, 2015
Of course, not all of our instructors are new and many of our regular instructors will be offering classes in different mediums. Bonni Poch is also offering a wire work class, but with a different look - proof positive that there is room for all styles (how boring life would be otherwise!).

Raking & Masking; Feb. 28/Mar. 1, 2015

Amy Waldman-Smith brings us an advance class for
lampworkers with Raking and Masking Techniques. Amy is an outstanding instructor who travels and teaches throughout North America. We're fortunate to have her as an instructor here in Toronto!

Soutache Swirl; January 11, 2015
Angela Peace, Iris Rogers Melamed, Liz Reynolds and many others will have classes in 2015 with new projects too in their respective mediums!

This is just a sneak peak into what coming in 2015 -- I promise you, there's much, much more! Come and see for yourself what's happening at the 2015 Meet the Teachers event on Saturday, January 10 -- info to come!
