It's a Real Pip!

27800960-15 Shaped Glass - 5 x 7 mm Pip Beads - Turquoise Green (strand)
Well gosh. I thought I knew how to use the word "pip" - but now - the last time I looked up a word and found this many meanings - it was "row."

27800960-05 Shaped Glass - 5 x 7 mm Pip Beads - Cobalt (strand)We all know it as something you find in an apple, and I'm sure that's how these little beads that look like seeds got their name. But pip means also, after a whole whack of meanings to do with small marks and insignia and a symptom of a bird disease (!!), both "an extraordinary one of it's kind" and "something irritating and annoying." Harrumph. Here's hoping that you find these new Pip beads to be more extraordinary and not annoying!

These are a new, flat drop shape from Preciosa-Ornela for you to integrate into your designs, and if you are looking for a way to use them, a quick google will give you bunches of ideas!

s41318 Stone Beads - 6 mm Round - West African Jade (strand)Also new this week - West African Jade! Feeling j-j-jaded? Un-jade yourself with this pretty green Nephrite jade from Africa. It's colour is a brighter shade of green due to traces of chromium in the stone - along with the other minerals that normally give it colour.

Upcoming Events!

We've got a full calendar coming up - tonnes of classes, we'll be at the Creativ Festival (with classes, and also in-booth Make and Takes!) and the Toronto Bead Show. If you are going to be there and want to place an order to pick up at the show, please get it to us early - we can't pick an order and load the truck at the same time!

We're also organizing a Lampworkers/Metal Smith/Hand made Trunk Show (on Nov 15). We do this to support artists that would like to try selling but are intimidated by making enough inventory for a full show. If you would like to participate and be a vendor, contact us for details.

We've been digging around in our Lampworking (Glass making) studio - and have found some archeological treasure - piles of glass left behind by students at one point or another. If you perhaps have been one of those students and have not made it into the studio recently, please come and pick up your glass! If it is not claimed by Oct 15, we're going to consider it abandoned!

All sorts of other new goodies too, so as always - you can click on a link or image above, or get started with the new items here. Happy Shopping!
