Classes

I think it's safe to say that everyone who came out for Anne Mitchell's metalwork classes had an absolute blast! It's always a treat to learn a new technique - and have a great time doing it!

Our classes are always a lot of fun, and we hope you'll join us for some of our upcoming classes.

Pamela Kearns is teaching her lovely Infinity Beaded Necklace on Thursday (Sept 13) from 6pm to 9pm

Using 6mm fire-polish glass beads and delica beads to create beaded components that can be used in multitude of ways. Students will create 6 components and combine them with chain and metal shapes to create a stunning necklace.
Technique Focus: Bead stitching and general jewellery making techniques.

Are you a beginner? We've got the perfect class for you this Saturday (Sept 15th) from 10am to 12:30pm. Join Marilyn Gardiner for her Bead Stringing Basics class!

If you've never used beading wire to make jewellery, this is the perfect class to take. You will learn how to use crimps to keep the beads secure, how to add a clasp, how to choose beading wire and how to use wire protectors and crimp covers for a professional finish.
The beads and the jasper pendants are hot from the gem shows in Tucson. Choose from 5 colourways - limited quantities, so reserve yours now! Fushsia, Blue, Turquoise, Pink and Purple.
Tools will be provided, but if you have your own, please bring them. We'll be using crimp pliers, cutters, chain nose pliers and flat nose pliers.

Skill Level:Beginner
Technique Focus: Bead stringing techniques

Are you more interested in wire and metal? If so, this next class is perfect for all levels (including rank beginner!)  Marilyn Gardiner will show you how to create these stunning Celtic Star Earrings.
 Saturday, Sept 15th from 1:30 to 4:30

Learn these unusual and eye-catching stars! These stars can be made with different metals and in 3 sizes. Make one as a pendant or make 3 stars as part of a necklace, OR make 2 stars for earrings.
Skill Level: Beginner, All Levels
Technique Focus:Wirework - Chain Mail

Lampworkers - we have something just for you. Lezlie is here this weekend for a two day class in Murrini Madness! Saturday and Sunday (15th, 16th) from 10am to 5pm. Please note: This is not a beginner class. Experience on the torch with at least a few months of practice behind you is required.

During this 2 day workshop you will learn how to create your own murrini. Using Effetre glass you will learn how to create a design in cross section at the torch, heating the molten mass, and then pulling into a rod. Much like pulling taffy, this technique draws the design down into miniature, so you can slice the cane and add it to your work for fine detail.
