The Spirit of Christmas - Local Food Drive

Ho Ho Ho everyone!

It's that time of year - wow - where did 2011 go? (For that matter, where did 1999 go?)

Christmas is less than 2 weeks away. (Brief pause for hyper-ventilation.)

Folks are running around buying gifts and food, making gifts and baking, and planning the holiday dinners and get-togethers.

Some, however, don't get to look forward to Christmas with happy anticipation and mild anxiety about in-laws. They have a real, deep-down dread - "Do I have money to buy food? Can I let the rent slide one more month? What am I going to feed my kids today?" And it's not a Christmas-only dread - it's a gnawing heartache all year 'round.

It's frighteningly easy to wind up there, and harder still to climb back out. It's not going to be a Merry Christmas for them.

How can we help?

We can lend a hand - and pass along some good fortune.

From Dec 12th to the 20th - here at beadFX - we will be collecting food donations for Daily Bread* - Toronto/GTA food bank.

In the spirit of Christmas, let's share our good fortune and take a moment to reach out.

For those of you not coming into the store (although you really should, for one last look before we move!) - you can donate online to Daily Bread, or  drop off some canned goods in your local area.
