This week at Beadfx

Hi to everyone. Hope that you are all enjoying the beautiful weather which we all know will not last long. Do not despair because when you are ready to hide indoors we have tons going on to keep you happy!

This Wednesday November 11th is the first of Keith Wong's 4 classes this month, Clear and Frosted Icicles: An Introduction to Borosilicate Glass from 6 to 9pm.

Friday November 13th is a new class by Angela Peace, Beyond the Button Knot from 3 to 6pm. This is an intermediate level class. Participants need to be able to tie a double and a single button knot. Snake or Phoenix knot knowledge is useful, but not essential for this course.

Marilyn Gardiner is here this weekend with two classes. First is the Copper and Denim Bracelet. Create an exciting bracelet to fit with only some wire and beads! Learn how to hammer and coil wire as you create lacy S links, dangling charms and a clasp. Instead of purchasing headpins, learn 3 different ways to finish a dangle.

From 2 to 5pm is the Crossover Bracelet. This is a beginner level chain mail class. This is available in both copper and sterling silver.

Sunday November 15th is How to Run a Successful Craft Show with Catherine Winter. The house has filled with your creations? You sneak beads in the door when your family isn't looking. You race to the mailbox to get to the visa bill first. You've sold to your friends, family, co-workers. Now, you're starting to wonder if maybe you can sell at a craft show? Let Catherine tell you how!

Amy Waldman-Smith is also here from 11 to 4pm on Sunday November 15th with a 5 hour Introduction to Making Glass Beads.

Monday November 16th is Keith second class, Colourful Solid Pendants or Ornaments. This class runs from 6 to 9pm and is an introductory level class. Students who register for all four classes will receive the discounted price of $480.00.

Thursday November 19th Cindy Vroom is back with a 4 week Basic Bead Stitching 101 course. Students may register for as many of these classes as they wish; those registering for all 4 will receive the discounted price of $100.00. Week one is Peyote and it runs from 6:30 to 8:30pm.

November 21st and 22nd Amy Waldman-Smith has a 2 day Introduction to Glass Bead Making.

Sunday November 22nd is Wire Wrapped Gem Stone and Ring with Robert Burton from 1 to 4pm. This is a beginner class.

Saturday November 21st is our Heavy Metal Trunk Show from 10 to 5pm. Jennifer Tough, Heather Bell-Denison, Robert Burton, Stephanie Dixon, Marilyn Gardiner, Suzanne Crudden and more will be here. Many of the artists will be demoing, selling kits, components and finished pieces. This is our first ever trunk show dedicated to metal work and it looks like a fantastic day.

We have Happy Hour Torching on Thursday from 5 to 9pm, buy one hour get one free! Please remember to book your torch early.

Happy Beading
